The Caf in Heaven

At my Alma Mater Samford University, our eating and social area was the cafeteria fondly called by all, the Caf. I had a discussion with my roommate one day while eating breakfast in the caf about heaven. We saw someone eating alone over in the corner and began to talk about how only the socially outcast of Samford eat by themselves and how that was a shame.
I asked Pesci, my roommate who he thought would eat alone in the Caf in Heaven, that person who all the others thought they were too good to eat with or who they thought doesnt deserve to be there. I came up with Darwin, and I decided I would take my tray over and eat breakfast with him. Others on the list were Judas and Pelagius. I thought it would be a good exercise to see who all you thought would be in the Caf in heaven and would sit in the corner alone and eat their breakfast. I would also love it if you would explain why they were there and alone. Just for fun.

You'll make the effort to eat with the outcast in heaven but not on earth? So much for "Thy will be done on earth as it is heaven."

No, I actually believe here on earth is more important than in heaven, as you know. I hope we all practice this here, I try to, it just seems right. THe point of the post was to see who we all might think are the people who "Popular Christianity" might have shunned here that will be in heaven sitting at the proverbial table alone inthe Caf in Heaven.
So what about it? And Universalist answers are too easy.

I think what Adam was saying (at least this is what I thought anyway when I read this) is: did you go over and eat with that guy who was alone in the Samford Caf? Or did you just talk about the caf in heaven and forget about the one right in front of you? I'm not saying that I would have gone over though...

What do you mean Universalist answers? Isn't the whole question universalist? If Darwin's in heaven, then universlism must be true! I think Darwin won't be alone anyway - one of his biggest hang-ups with God was about the death of his young daughter, Emma I think was her name, so I think he will be (or is?) spending time with her.

Being alone in "heaven" doesn't sound much like heaven if you ask me...

Yeah, I understand what Adam was saying, and again yes the person in the caf at Samford deserves to be sat with and actually his name was Matt he is a Catholic at a Baptist dominated school with a huge Greek system that made people like Matt fell very alone. Matt and I became friends and yes many times I did sit with Matt, he is actually the one who taught me the basis of what I know about Catholicism. I do really like what you put, Tim, about being alone in heaven and how that does not sound much like heaven. My question had more to do with who "popular Christianity" deems unworthy to be there, but might, and hopefully is there. Once again completely theoretical topic not one that would reflect anyone who posts social gospel. I am really excited about the amount of quick responses, so once again who would it be that you would go and sit with?

Prehaps you will be alone, I will be alone, because we feel that we do not deserve to be in a place of paradice when we have little or nothing to earn ourself to be there.
