Conversion & Martyrdom

Here is an article that I wrote for our parish newsletter. I would welcome comments & stories about your own experience and/or view of conversion.

On a similar note, The Christian Century just published this insightful editorial on modern day martyrs.

I really like what you said about faith being a pilgrimage. It's a journey. It's not a one-time decision but a daily decision to take up the cross and follow Jesus.

I think if I were to be asked that question, "Are you born again?" I'd reply:

"I'm born again each time I decide to take up my cross and follow Jesus. The Bible tells us God's mercies are new every morning. That describes my relationship with God: it's new every morning."

Very well written Brad. My frustration with conversion oriented churches is that once one is converted, there is little done to ensure discipleship or mark significant events along the way.
